STREAM TEAM

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION

Who are these people in yellow rain gear that I see out
when it's raining?

There are a lot of rumors floating around about who
they are. They might be adults that never grew up and
just like playing in the rain. This is one of the kinder
rumors.  Reality is a lot simpler though. They are most
likely the "Stream Team" you are seeing.  They are
volunteers that live here at the lake and go out in the
rain to take samples of the "nasties" that come into our
lake. Things like silt (mud) that will eventually make the
lake a golf course or phosphates and other chemicals
that can make our lake a cesspool. By monitoring what
is happening in our water shed, the "Stream Team" has
helped to make Weatherby Lake one of the best
maintained lakes in the KC area.  You, too can become
a "Stream Team" member.
